    Useful things

I thought I'd bring together some things that I think might be useful when talking about or thinking about death and dying:

'What happens as we die' - TED talk by Kathryn Mannix

Kathryn Mannix is a retired consultant who specialised in palliative medicine. She set up the UK's first cognitive behaviour therapy clinic specifically for people receiving palliative care - I think she's wonderful. She's published two books: With the End in Mind (2017) and Listen (2021).

In this TED talk, she talks us through the process of dying, as discussed with a previous patient by her senior colleague. Sometimes, the fear of the unknown can put us off talking about it; by understanding what the normal dying process is, I believe it can make talking about death and dying easier.
